They are used for high-temperature ducting or hot-air blower applications, engine exhaust, loading and unloading trailers and railcars, grain vacuuming, transferring abrasive materials, dust collection, and as an protective outer cover for other hoses.Interlocked metal hoses are made from a single strip of metal that is profiled and locked onto itself. They are also known as stripwound metal hose. The hoses' overlapping, or interlocked, sections can slide back and forth to allow the hoses to flex. Roughbore interlocked metal hoses have a rough interior and are suitable for general purpose applications. Smoothbore interlocked metal hoses have a smooth, abrasion-resistant internal liner that helps prevent damage to products being conveyed in the hose and prevents material from building up inside the hose.
